Sun., July 5: Fidalgo Bay Coffee
French pressed, direct trade, organic Café Selvanica served with an introduction to the company’s philosphy, and the inspiration they draw from nature and the bay.
Sat., July 11: Watoto Coffee
100% Kenyan coffee, single origin. Watoto coffee donates all of its profit to Project Education, Inc., a Washington State-based non-profit providing education for impoverished children in Kenya. Product available.
Sun., July 19: Trabant Coffee and Chai
Distinctive coffees from Central America and Ethiopia, roasted by 49th Parallel Coffee Roasters, all of which have scored 88 points or more on the cupping scale. Growers are compensated at least twice the fair trade price per pound.
Sat., July 25: Mukilteo Coffee Roasters
Sample coffee from this Langley-based roaster and learn how to get the best out of your home brewer. Topics include basic principles of coffee brewing and pitfalls to avoid.

Sat., August 22: The Joy of Coffee in Greek and Turkish Life
Join the Lagos family, owners of The Continental Restaurant & Pastry Shop and get a personal look into the coffee culture of the Northern Mediterranean seaboard while sampling coffee made in the traditional methods of Greece and Turkey.

A variety of organic certified coffees from Costa Rica served with an overview of the Association of Organic Farmers of Costa Rica, a trade group providing support for small family farms.

Ethiopia’s coffee ceremony is an integral part of Ethiopian social and cultural life. But don’t be in a hurry! Ethiopian homage to coffee is sometimes ornate, and always ceremonial. The coffee ceremony takes us back to a time when value was given to conversation and human relations. Sit back and enjoy because it is most definitely not instant.
Sat., April 11 & Sun., April 12: Starbucks Coffee Experience and Tasting Weekend
Looking for an opportunity to grow your knowledge and love of coffee? Join us at the Burke Museum for the the Starbucks Coffee Experience and Tasting Weekend, Saturday and Sunday, April 11-12. Between 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., local coffee masters will answer questions and lead you through the Clover brewing process with personal coffee tastings. On Sunday, there will be formal coffee cupping sessions at 10:30 am, 2 pm, 1:30 pm, and 3 pm. Space is limited to 10 people per session; registration is at the Burke admissions desk on a first come first served basis. We look forward to sharing a cup of Starbucks coffee with you!

From Hawaii, the only coffee producing state in the union and source of one of the world’s premier coffees, 100% Kona. Single-origin coffees grown in volcanic soil will be presented by the farmers who grow them. Product available.
Sun., June 28: Café Femenino
This coffee is grown, harvested, washed, and sold entirely by women.
