evening of food, fun, and hands-on
museum exploration! During your visit, you will be
able to preview activities from
our Discovery Tour programs
and examine our traveling study
collections. Twenty teachers will also have
the opportunity to participate in
a teacher workshop related to In Search of
Giant Squid.

In Search of Giant Squid Discovery Tour
A Hands-on Tour for Schools
October – December, 2007
Hands-on tours will guide students through the search for the squid and a better understanding of its ocean environment. The tour program will include group and individual activities and a take-home exploration of the exhibit. The tour is geared towards students in grades 2-5, but can be adapted for younger and older grade levels. More...
Opening Day
Saturday, September 22, 2007 10 am 5 pm
Opening day features activities for squid fans of all ages, including tours of the exhibit with cephalopod specialist Alan Kohn, squid dissections by the Seattle Aquarium, sea shanties by Capt. John Burke and Blue Peter, a childrens activity with the Port Townsend Marine Science Center, and cephalopod inspired poetry form Seattles own Cephalopod Appreciation Society.
