IKIP TRICHOPTERA REPORT

RESULTS TO DATE.-The taxonomic diversity of the IKIP trichopteran specimens identified to date consists of 77 species belonging to 42 genera in 18 families. Published results on this material include one new archipelago, and one new island, record for one species (see New Trichoptera Records), and the description of one new species (see New Insect Species). All of these specimen records, complete with corresponding locality data, are on-line and fully searchable (see IKIP Databases). The taxonomists who have examined this material are listed below:

  • AREFINA, Tatyana (Institute of Biology and Pedology, Russian Academy of Sciences, Vladivostok, Russia). Material examined: all trichopteran taxa from 1994 and 1995 expeditions (Russian team's collections).
  • ITO, Tomiko (Hokkaido Fish Hatchery, Eniwa, Hokkaido, Japan). Material examined: various trichopteran taxa from 1994 and 1995 expeditions (Japanese and U.S.A. team's collections).
  • KUHARA, Naotoshi (Chitose Board of Education, Chitose, Japan). Material examined: various trichopteran taxa from 1994 and 1995 expeditions (Japanese and U.S.A. team's collections).
  • NISHIMOTO, Hiroyuki (Private Residence, Aichi, Japan). Material examined: Apatania (Apataniidae) taxa from 1994 and 1995 expeditions (Japanese and U.S.A. team's collections).
  • NOZAKI, Tokao (Kanagawa Environmental Research Center, Hiratsuka, Japan). Material examined: various trichopteran taxa from 1994 and 1995 expeditions (Japanese and U.S.A. team's collections).
  • UENISHI, Makoto (Entomological Laboratory, University of Osaka Prefecture, Sakai, Japan). Material examined: various trichopteran taxa from 1994 and 1995 expeditions (Japanese and U.S.A. team's collections).

RESEARCH PRODUCTS.-A checklist of all trichopteran generic and species identifications currently in the IKIP Database are available for each family. To view a corresponding check-list, click on the family name in the below classification (following Weaver and Morse, 1986; but using Gall, 1994 and Weaver and Malicky, 1994 for unplaced taxa; see Classification References).
