Batik craftsmanship is important cultural heritage to a wide range of Indigenous people who live in Southwest China. Xiaomei Wang, the director of the “Hands on Memory Museum” has dedicated her life to preserving and re-vitalizing traditional batik production techniques. Xiaomei will exhibit traditional clothing from the “Hands on Memory Museum” in the Artist Studio and will demonstrate how indigo dyes are produced and textiles are stained.
