August 2001: The Burke Museum's
exhibit "Entwined with Life: Native
American Basketry" has been awarded the first
annual Western Museums Association Award for Exhibition Excellence.
This award is given to an exhibition that furthers the study
and understanding of the American West, and is underwritten
by the Charles Redd Center for Western Studies at Brigham
Young University.
February 2001: The Entwined
with Life invitation postcard (designed by UW Publications
Services) won a Silver Medal at the CASE awards competition
(Council for Advancement and Support of Education), as well
as an Award of Excellence from the UCDA (University &
College Designer Association).
